Winslow Memorial Park
– 90-acre Winslow Park on Casco Bay offers a sandy beach, swimming in
the Atlantic, and nature walks. Staples Point Road off the South

Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park
– 5 miles of hiking trails on 233 acres of forest and shoreland along
the Harraseeket River. Explore the rocky granite strewn shores of Casco
Bay, view wildlife, including great blue herons, snowy egrets, osprey,
crabs

Desert of Maine –
2 1/2 miles from the Econo Lodge on Desert Road is this natural
phenomenon of 40 acres of real desert in coastal Maine. Narrated safari
coach tours take you along giant 70-foot sand dunes. Nature trails,
museum, gift and souvenir shop. 95 Desert Road. 865-6962
Mast Landing Sanctuary – a sanctuary operated by the Maine Audubon
Society, 3-miles of trails among 150 acres of evergreen forests,
meadows, marsh, and orchards on Upper Mast Landing Road. 781-2330.
Wolfe's Neck Farm – 600-acre working farm. Demonstration gardens and a
hiking trail, farm animals. Seasonal hayrides, cider pressing, wool
crafts, and pumpkin carving. Admission is free. 10 Burnett Road.

Bradbury Mountain
– 600-acre state park with panoramic views of Casco Bay from the summit,
an easy 15-minute hike. Hiking trails, picnic facilities, ballfield,
playground, mountain bike trails. In winter, cross country skiing,

Atlantic Seal Cruises
– Cruises depart from the South Freeport town wharf to tour Casco Bay,
seal-watching cruises daily from Memorial Day through October or cruise
to Eagle Island, 17-acre island home of Admiral Peary of North Pole
fame. 865-6112.
